About Leslie
Leslie L. Clarke, Ph.D. is a seasoned coach and consultant dedicated to empowering individuals and organizations to achieve their full potential. With a Ph.D in Sociology and 25 years of experience, Leslie specializes in personal and leadership coaching, staff development, and team building. Her collaborative approach combines deep listening with motivating coaching techniques, fostering transformative growth and sustainable success. Committed to excellence and continuous learning, Leslie helps clients navigate complex challenges and unlock innovative solutions to advance their goals.
Education
Leslie holds a Ph.D and a Master's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Program Evaluation. She completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Behavioral Health. She has a certificate in Evidence-Based Coaching from the Fielding Graduate University, a coaching certificate through the Coach Training Alliance, and has completed Executive Coaching coursework with the College of Executive Coaching. She is currently completing her ACC certification, as a member of the International Coach Federation. Leslie is certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Leadership Circle Profile, and The Leadership Challenge's Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI).
Professional Experience
Leslie was a professor of Health Policy at the University of Florida for fifteen years, where she directed research initiatives focused on women's health, child health policy, and health care access. Her translational research was funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, among other agencies. She left academia to take a leadership role with the Florida Department of Health, where she directed a multi-county health improvement program for many years. In California, she held positions as a Senior Consultant with Harder & Company, Executive Director of a homeless services partnership in Los Angeles, COO of a for-profit business, and has taught Transformational Leadership at Insight University. In 2009, she launched her coaching and consulting business, Performance Dynamics, which she has newly renamed Leslie Clarke Coaching and Consulting.
